Morning Sky

 The morning sky

today was very dramatic.

Like somebody
picked up a brush dipped in white

and brushed across with it
in a deep blue canvas.

And then added a little bit of greens

and a little bit of moon too

Wishing you all a splendid time.

A look at the sky

A look at the sky
and gorgeous clouds
finally had me getting the
Canon out of its hiding.

And I love the results that
I got with it.

How else could I flaunt the sky
with all its shades

And with bicycles, fences - everything.
This one had to be clicked
and this one had to be included too.

August sky

Nothing more pretty
than the rain drops standing still
in the misty morning air.

Have a wonderful day ahead.

SkyWatch Outside

It has been raining since Tuesday.
Rainy Tuesday,
rainy Wednesday,
a rainier Thursday
and a still rainy Friday.

But Wednesday,
the calls of duty dared me to step outside.
The route being dotted with
fog, mist and clouds
and rain.
I put my mobile to good use
but since the bus was literally being driven like a flying saucer
and there were few stoppages made,
I did not get quality pictures.

I will be sharing the tolerable ones only

No sky here, but I like the blanket of mist on Beas and the green of the hills in this one
The next two are my favorite ones

The persisting rains
have led to landslides
So you find me posting these pictures
rather than taking classes.
Of course, I got my day off :)
Rain, rain come again.

On the road

I stepped out on the road today
wearing my newest footwear.

Little knowing that the
heavy rains yesterday have
caused a cloud burst leading to
lots of water on the roads.

Gushing furiously - untamed and untrained.

The rains have also brought back
the life and activity in hills.

But thankfully,
the sky remained clear today.
At least most of it and
I did not face any inconvenience en route.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Night and day

The moon like a flower,
In heaven's high bower,
With silent delight,
Sits and smiles on the night.
-William Blake

We love the morning,
because we know that there will be night soon!
We love the night,
because we know that there will be morning soon!
Who loves the morning if there shall be no night?
Who loves the night if there shall be no morning?

A hearty sky watch

Sometimes inspiration come in the least thought of moments.
It so happened with me yesterday.
I was waiting for my regular bus in the evening,
When I looked up at the sky.
It was unbearably hot and stuffy.
And to think of it, it was 5 in the evening.
I looked up at the (seemingly merciless) sky
in a hope that it would take pity on me.
But what I saw took my breath away.
After a week of rainy and sunny hues,
With nothing as inspiring to click a photograph,
This was definitely a moment I could not let go of.
I believe the pattern I saw is that of a heart.

Not prefect, but I do think the contours of this cloud are shaped like one.

I would like to hear your take on this one.

Sunset shots

Travelling on one of the most beautiful roads
has one advantage.
i get to see beautiful shades of Mother Nature everyday.
Not that I can capture them all
like the dust storm the other day.
But I can definitely see them and an capture it all in my eyes and my heart.
And then I feel so blessed.

the other day, the commute took longer than usual.
A road accident had caused a traffic jam
and anyone who has been on this route would understand what it would mean
to have a narrow road blocked and then traffic being streamlined.
Right in the peak of the tourist season.

With the bus moving at the snail's pace
I got a good chance to put my Nokia 2730 to use

I began my journey with the sun hiding away in the folds of the grey clouds
But as the journey progressed,
the clouds melted away.
Yes, the dark grey clouds gone

The twilight shades on and across the hills.
The slate and rocks - the hills on this side are rough and rugged.

And this one is from the Pandoh Dam.
I missed my Canon Power shot.
It was beautiful sunset.
Only if I were not in bus, I could have had a better chance at it.
But nevertheless, I was not giving up without clicking another one.
Even though every single passenger was staring at me.

The result was not as promising
for more than a sunset it looked like a forest fire to me.

And in case you are wondering what made me think of forest fires,
it is getting hot and the snow and ice is all melting.
And every now and then, I can see smoke rising away at the distance.
And all this heat has made the water levels of the River Beas rise.
So the first gate of the Pandoh Dam has been opened completely twice in the last week itself.
And I did not let go of the chance of being able to take a picture of it.

It is more breathtaking than it appears here.
It definitely is.

Wishing a wonderful week to you all.

May and Pictures

The month of May is literally running.
Why, it seems yesterday when I wrote the last post
and it is already nearing the month end.
The sky has been beautiful
and the sky has been amazing all this while.

Yes, these are the patterns sketched out on a fine May morning sky out here.
There is one more from the May sky

But it is getting warmer now and I think I won't get to shoot clouds that often now.
I do hope to be able to share sunnier and more beautiful hues from the sky.
And guess what, my little nephew is learning how to climb up and down on his own.
A child is always eager to learn.
A child is someone that inspires me and especially my nephew.
For I spend most of my free time with him.

I love adding new fragrances to my wardrobe.
So, on my recent visit to Chandigarh, I was able to buy a few more.
More than anything else, I like how the picture turned out.
So the picture below shows the fragrances (read smell) I adore

There are two from Russasi (Twinkle and Emotion), two from Charlie (Red and Sunshine) and one from Paris (Miss Lomani).
Enough to last me more than this summer.
The next one down the list was a favorite word.
And I thought hard and then I zeroed it as below :

I like the word for it is as difficult to be one as it is to find a good one.
I like the word for it inspires so many thoughts.
And not letting those thoughts flow in here and move me away from the task at hand,
I move on to the next prompt - kitchen
Having shared a detailed picture of my kitchen already, I thought I would play around with this one too.
(I may or may not be improving with the photography thing but am definitely trying out various angles)

A detailed look into how we keep our utensils all stacked up
Convenient setting and beautiful setting (at least I find it so).

But at the end of the day, after a hectic commute
it is this signboard that definitely falls into the
something that makes me happy
category

The one that clearly tells me that I am nearing home. This is approximately the mid of my journey.
And I come home to my mum and my dad and share a loving time with them.

And more than this signboard or the milestone
it is this patch of grass that tells me that I am nearly done with the journey

It is only about 3km from my home town.
And it is at this place that my bus halts for no less than 10 mins.
Well, even the bus needs a readying up for the next day
and this is the petrol pump where it gets its daily dose of diesel.

And guess what welcomes me into my room.

A poster full of love, care and friendship
It has been there in my room for long and has lasted me good.
It has been the object of focus many a times too.
And I hope to be able to share it many more times
(I do not seem to get tired of it ever).

And having recently returned from a business conference
I am totally inspired to read

I cannot even make out the ABC of what I'm reading. But reading I am.
And on this note,
I would end this rather long post.
And I will try to be more regular in future.

Happy living till then.

Breaking Dawn Original

Yesterday, I had to report early to the office.
So, I got up early too.
Logical, else I could not have made it in time.

So, the point is that I got up early yesterday.
And witnessed a beautiful sky.

The Breaking Dawn - Original

And then immediately,
the sky started changing colors.
So, the very next instant,
the sky looked something like this

But then I got to see
the moon fading away
slowly and magically

And then I tried to get a closer shot of the moon
And the result is :

Happy SkyWatch and blessed week ahead.

SkyWatch @ Amritsar

I wonder if ever before
I had paid any attention to the hues of sky anywhere
But ever since I started participating in this SkyWatch episode
I love to experiment with this theme.

Last weekend, I was on a pilgrimage to the holy city, Amritsar.
We did meet clouds but there were many other things
more beautiful and striking
The inspiration was a picture I saw in the blog
Ever since I saw it, I wanted to do something on parallel lines.

And, as luck would have it,
I got to do a similar thing.

Not once but many times over.

This one is The Golden Temple, Amritsar in its full glory.
I like the fact that even the reflection in water is covered completely in this picture.
I call this a genius shot in my collection.

And later I tried clicking various canopies individually.

This one is a part of the entrance gate to The Golden Temple.
And the one below this is that of the Langar Hall

but I like this one the best.
This was clicked by my father on my  special request.
This is a canopy from the sanctum sanctorum itself.

I hope you enjoyed this week's SkyWatch.
Have a fabulous weekend ahead.

The menacing clouds

I did my pictures while coming back to the sweetest home
from my workplace.
I know I have done this theme before too but
I had to do it again.

A perfect sunny day
turns menacingly cloudy
and then the downpour and the chill.
I wonder if I can actually call this spring?

I had simply wanted to do a sunset amid the clouds

when I saw some beautiful hues

Mixing and matching of greys and blues continued

And then saw - white, blue and grey together

and I just had to click it too

Waiting for the bus had never been so fun.
But enough of the blue,
I saw some gorgeous greens - rain washed and glistening with drops

Even the bus window had its share of drops so pardon the smudges you see in the picture above

Then I saw the proof of the having started out as sunny
A beautiful sunset - rain and sun together

I can only marvel at the colors of the nature
and every day I see some new shades

The clouds followed me all the way back to home
and they follow me every day

But it has to be spring time
because the sheep are definitely returning back to the higher hills

Watch out what colors I will have in store
for the next week's SkyWatch

Till then, I wish you all sunny skies.
