Prompt - Something you're listening to

"Shivratri" days are the days when there is music in air for us ...

When "Phalgun" (beginning on 20th Feb and ending on 21st March (or 20th March in leap years) is welcomed with full fervor ...

When the deities roam around in our sweet little town ...

And when their arrival is announced by pious tunes ...

The scene never changes ...

So, I can afford to use this old pic here ...

 And the music never fails to appeal

It is always fresh and always new ...

Ears wait for this annual live concert ...

Come tomorrow and I will be waiting for this music to fill my ears again ...

Apart from this ...

I have been listening to ... the music from Twilight ...

Possibility from New Moon ....

and

Full Moon ... by the Black Ghosts

And this one too (note - my effort in photographing Real Player screen using Nokia 2730 Classic)

And since I was so engrossed in listening to music,

not to mention clicking all these pics,

I added the salt twice in spinach (I was cooking!!!)

So, now I will have to make mends (sigh)

P.S. I also corrected my blog name spelling ...

But the content for the post ...

I wrote it in my hand.

Two - I love the quote ...

It inspires me and keeps me going.

Three - I don't know why but I looked forward to posting for this one prompt.

It sounded so much fun ...

(Not that I have a splendid writing ...)

And this is a great place where I can thank Mrs. Chopra and Mrs. Vandana Sehgal ...

who were particular about good writing (and that meant many re-works and repeat assignments for me)

Thank you teachers ...

For if it were not you ...

I would not have the courage to post this one :)

Prompt - Night

If I had found the "Inside your bathroom cabinet" difficult for the lack of object ...

I found this prompt a step ahead of it, solely for the lack of my expertise ...

Reflected so well in this one here ...

And I tried again ... and with another disappointing result in hands ...

Having a good camera (I used a Canon Powershot S5 IS) does not make everyone (read Ruby) a photographer ...

But here's the salvage for the challenge ...

(Atleast it is readable and viewable)

My brainstorm again ...

Nights in my town these days are resonating with live performances of various artists ...

Today is the last night of "Shivratri" festival ...

And all these nights, we were regaled by some of the best voices of Indian music industry ...

22nd February, 2012 ... Artists from reality show

23rd February, 2012 ... Master Saleem

24th February, 2012 ... Comedy artists and Qawaalli

25th February, 2012 ... Himachali Night

26th February, 2012 ... Kunaal Ganjawala ...

And as I am posting this, Kunal's voice is enthralling us all ... 

Off to listen to him ...

(I am watching the live telecast being relayed directly by our local channel )

P.S. I wonder if this one would qualify ...

It does have the word "night" written (though in Hindi)

Prompt - Green

Fresh Green Coriander ...

We get it in plenty these days ...

People from villages come to the town for celebrating "Shivratri" ...

And they know how to make hay while the sun shines

(or should I say ... how to make money while the fair lasts ...

They sell fresh home grown coriander to we town people, in the morning, enjoy the fair in the afternoon and leave for their villages in the evening)

And since we get it in plenty ...

We process it for future use too ...

Cleaning and checking the leaves (removing any unwanted infected leaves) , washing them, and sun - drying them so that they become crisp and then crushing them to fine powder ... that can be sprinkled and used in absence of fresh green leaves

Ditto for fenugreek ...

but they were not available for modelling ;)

And, I could safely say, green happens to be my winter color ...

All in all ...

Green ... is a beautiful color!!!! :)

I knew even before I started working on the challenge that this one would have me stumped ...

I do not have a bathroom cabinet ...

As simple as that ...

So every day ... every time I have clicked my camera for this challenge ...

I have had a bathroom cabinet idea gnawing at me ...

So, what did I do ...

No I did not go out to buy a cabinet for myself ...

I love shopping but ... 

Buying a cabinet is not like I thought it and I bought it thing

Now, we do have a shelf where we keep the basic stuff ...

And then I had a brain storm .... 

And I present to you an area from my shelf 

where ...

Pantene and Sunsilk stay in harmony ...

Total peace ...

Well Peggy Joyce or no Peggy Joyce but I do love receiving bracelets as gifts.

And this one is a gift from mum and dad.

And there is a story to it.

It was in year 1997 that I came to know about the festival of hearts ... courtesy Dil To Pagal Hai.

And I remember having taken my father by surprise by asking him for a valentine gift for myself.

He was going to Delhi for some reason and he promised me to get one. And he did.

He got me a beautiful bracelet that I still wear to date.

Ever since then I have been asking him for my gift and I have been getting something in the month of February. Not necessarily 14th. But that does not matter.

Last year it was a jacket.

This year, it is this bracelet.

Trust me, I did not ask for anything this year. He had already bought so many things for me.

But this one came as a surprise. I got it at the beginning of the month but the tagline was

"and ... this is your valentine day's gift".

I absolutely love this new addition to my collection.

And am I waiting for an apt occasion to wear it!!!

Thank you, dad and love you :)

I will also need some tips to be able to click better photographs of sparkling things in future.

The fact is I miss the good old days ... 

when we had just one phone and I used to race my sister to pick it up

And used to call out to mum and dad on full voice if it used to be a long distance call with elders on line

Or used to mistake my landline number with my friend's.

More so ...

Because my phone these days is just a synonym for digital clock.

And I have two of them  ... for personal use ... I don't even remember when they last rang ... sigh ..

The 10A.M. time is when I like to "work" on my computer. Today it was spent setting up my desktop, back from a trip to vendors (sigh ... again). The picture shows how well my efforts paid off. The mouse and the monitor (you will have to zoom this pic) receive the power too but the screen stares at me blank and black. But that was momentary and it took a couple of restarts to get it working. I wonder how long my joy lasts this time round.
